At Southern Highlands Flower Farm I grow the way nature intended - naturally, with an organic mindset and no tilling. My passion for Dahlias (and my huge collection of these beautiful blooms!) is something I love to share, and I cant wait to teach you my methods for propagating and growing this wonderful flower!

My co-host for this very special workshop is my fabulous friend, Kate Mungoven of Lileah Dahlias. Kate is one of Australia's top Dahlia breeders, breeding many new varieties over the last decade with the aim to produce vase-worthy blooms in new and unusual colours and forms. Kate's talent and passion have gifted us with beauties that I now couldn't live without - including Lileah Caramel Rose, Mailman, Pink Petticoats, Peachy Keen and many more. Kate has constantly inspired and encouraged me throughout my growing journey and I am so excited for you to experience her passion and support for your growing journey as well.

Kate and I will share our experiences in growing in a simple and approachable way, sharing skills, methods and strategies that you can take home and apply in your own gardens. We can't wait to share with you the fascinating and rewarding lifecycle of our favourite flower!

During this fantastic 4hr workshop you will learn about:

- Dividing and storing Dahlia tubers

- Harvesting, processing and storing Dahlia seeds

- Breeding new Dahlias from seed

- Growing Dahlias (& Chrysanthemums) from cuttings

- Cover cropping and building your soil health naturally

- Organic pest management

- Planting advice

- Watering & fertilisation requirements and strategies

- Plant supports, pinching, disbudding and deadheading

You will tour Southern Highlands Flower Farm and experience first-hand how we grow our Dahlias as well as our Peonies, Italian Ranunculus, Chrysanthemums and more! You will also get to meet our pet pigs George & Chloe (who love a pat and a carrot!), as well as our Goose and Duck flock who are a very important part of our flower farm ecosystem. Our Poppy field will be starting to wake up with early blooms and we will be showing you how, when, where and why we cover crop - a lot!

Delicious catering will be provided by our always-popular local cafe Potter's Pantry Bundanoon.

And because we believe more is more at workshops, you will also take home an AMAZING collection of goodies:

- CLUMP of Dahlia tubers

- Dahlia seeds

- Secateurs, snips & scissors

- Gardening gloves

- SHFF Tote Bag, Notepad & Pen

Last but far from least - EXCLUSIVE BONUS - attendees gain early access to our online Winter Dahlia Tuber Sale!!!

Please note - a tuber limit of one per variety will apply. Instructions on how to privately access the website once the sale is ready will be sent to you in advance via email (sale expected mid-late July).

This is an introductory course that is aimed at the home grower - no previous experience is required.

A welcome email will be sent the Sunday prior to your workshop with further attendee details.
