Our Postal Peonies trial is launching in 2024!!!

Peonies can be shipped dry (i.e. with no water), as long as they are packed perfectly and given the royal treatment when they arrive at their destination.

I get so many requests for my flowers, especially to Sydney, that we want to offer overnight express post on our Peonies. This removes the need for customers to source from the major flower markets (where the majority of flowers are sadly imported) and gives Australians better access to specialty farm fresh flowers in the most environmentally-friendly way possible.

This years trial is testing a range of fully recyclable gel-packs and liners. We will also be testing shipment to regional areas as well as Sydney and surrounds, just in case we can make it possible to send our fresh flowers to all Aussies. By using Australia Post we are using existing transport routes and only offering limited quantities so the environmental footprint is minimal.

Our trial will be conducted in the early part of Peony season (October), and if successful which I do expect it to be after much research and analysis, we will launch Postal Peonies (NSW only in 2024) in November, which is SO EXCITING!

To make shipping costs affordable and viable, we will be offering shipments of 10 stems, with the possibility of 20 stems once we have completed testing. As we are in a regional area ourselves, we also have to drive for nearly an hour to get to an AusPost outlet that is part of the overnight service. So it is quite a complicated initiative but I am so passionate about getting local Australian Peonies into the hands of Peony lovers across the country!

While this first trial is focused on Sydney and AusPost’s definition of NSW’s Major Areas, we will look at making Peonies more broadly available across Australia next year (excluding TAS, WA & NT due to quarantine restrictions). In other areas of Australia where Peonies are grown (e.g. Stanthorpe and Armidale in NSW and many fabulous farms in Victoria & Tasmania), please make sure you contact your local farms first - it is always best to source as locally as possible. We will aim to fill the gap to all other accessible locations in Australia as our production increases.

Peonies will ship ONLY on Wednesday each week, with delivery on Thursday or Friday depending on your location.

Each delivery of farm fresh Peonies will come with an instruction card that gives clear guidance on how to wake up your Peonies for a week of beautiful blooming.
