Petunia Grandiflora F1

This Italian range of Petunias has been bred for cut flowers by Farao Societola Agricola in Sarno, Italy. This is the only cut flower Petunia on the market globally.

"The first Petunia 100% double flower that can be used for cut flower, growing up right
can be used also climbing." Farao IT

These plants are a stunning smokey pink with darker veining towards the centre. They have tall strong stems and have a vase life of one week or more. The grandiflora-type large frilly double blooms create a beautifully romantic element in a bouquet. Naturally branching and more tolerant of heat and cold than regular Petunia's.

I am growing cut-flower Petunias this season for the first time alongside you, so I will provide growing instructions below and a whole lot of fantastic references to help you (and me!) on our Petunia journeys. I highly recommend deep diving into the resources below, both for more images and growing tips. It is such a beautiful world to fall into! The growing instructions and descriptions come from an amalgamation of my research into each variety. I will add Australia-specific content as I grow them and can share my experiences with you. For now, as I have been able to access these seeds through my wholesale sources, I am able to share these hard-to-find (if at all) seeds with my fellow Australian gardeners and growers.

Petunias are often grown as an annual but can be grown as perennials in frost-free climates or if they are lifted, cut back and kept in a frost-free area over Winter (I will be testing if I can leave them outside - we get down to -5 but I have read that they can tolerate that minimum, we shall see!). Cuttings can be taken from plants in Autumn to keep/expand your collection of specific cultivars, and plants will self-seed resulting in new strains of beautiful Petunias in your garden.
